Delete My Account
Last updated: 16 September 2026
In short: you can delete your account yourself from inside the app, under Settings > Delete Account. It takes effect immediately: you are signed out and your profile stops being visible to other people. If you no longer have access to the app, email [email protected] instead. Deletion cannot be undone.
1. Deleting from the app
- Open AstroHi and sign in.
- Tap the Settings icon in the top right.
- Tap Delete Account at the very bottom.
- Read the summary of what will be removed, then confirm.
Your account closes the moment you confirm and the app signs out. This route is always available — you never have to email us to be deleted.
2. If you cannot get into the app
If you changed phones, uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, ask us by email:
- Address: [email protected]
- Subject: Account deletion request
- Write from: the email address on the account. We have to confirm it so that nobody can delete somebody else's account; from a different address we may ask for more before we act.
- If you signed in with Google: the email address of that Google account is enough.
We confirm that the request arrived and complete it within 30 days at the latest. Deleting from the app needs no waiting — it happens at once.
3. What is deleted
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Account details: email, name, password hash, sign-in method | Deleted; your sessions and refresh tokens stop working |
| Birth date, birth time and birth coordinates | Deleted, including the encrypted time and coordinates |
| Profile: photos, bio, interests, preferences | Deleted; your profile stops being visible immediately |
| Personality answers and computed compatibility data | Deleted |
| Likes, matches, Meet Me requests and messages | Deleted, and unreachable for the people you talked to as well |
| Location | Deleted |
| Device notification record (token, platform, time zone, language) | Deleted; no further notifications are sent |
| Profile verification video or photo | Deleted |
4. What is kept for a while
- Blocks and reports. If you blocked somebody, or somebody reported you, those records are kept independently of your account to keep other people safe.
- The minimum the law requires. Where regulation requires us to keep something, we keep that much for as long as it requires.
- Technical backups. Deleted data falls out of backups within a reasonable period, and until then is reachable only to restore a backup.
None of this is used to profile you again, and none of it stops you from signing up afresh.
5. Your subscription is separate
Premium is managed by the store, so deleting your account does not cancel the subscription and does not refund it. To stop it renewing, cancel in the store:
- Android: Google Play > profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > AstroHi > Cancel.
- iPhone: Settings > your Apple Account > Subscriptions > AstroHi > Cancel Subscription.
Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment; we never see or keep your payment details.
6. Deletion cannot be undone
A deleted account cannot be restored. You can sign up again with the same email address, but your old profile, matches and messages do not come back. If you want a copy of your data, use Download my data in the app before you delete.
7. Questions
For anything about deletion, retention or your rights, write to [email protected]. What we process and why is set out in full in the Privacy Policy.
